Welcome to the Utah Animal Adoption Center

The Utah Animal Adoption Center (UAAC) is a non-euthanizing animal shelter that rescues and finds homes for an average of 1,000 dogs and cats each year. UAAC has been dedicated to reducing the tragedies of pet overpopulation, the euthanasia of healthy adoptable pets, and ending animal suffering since 1983.

Our facility is located on a beautiful 3.5. acre sanctuary next to the Jordan River Parkway Trail. Our dogs enjoy indoor/outdoor kennels and three large fenced areas where they can safely socialize and play. Our cats live communally in a large room where they can interact and relax on abundant cat trees and towers. Our cats also have access to an outdoor enclosure with climbing trellises and an elevated walkway.

UAAC is funded largely by individual donations, corporate support, and private foundation grants. The money raised by UAAC helps to save lives by supporting animal rescue and providing medical attention for pets in need.

Updates on Kelly

February 13 Kelly Adoption Update copy

February 13, 2018 | Update on Kelly!

Kelly is doing great. She is happy, tail wagging and a talker! She loves to tell you what she wants - which is mainly to go for a walk or be cuddled. She is so sweet. She takes her last pill tomorrow. We don't believe she is contagious anymore, the pill is to ensure any lingering mite/egg will be killed off. Her hair is growing back, it's white with some black/brown on her body and mostly black/brown on her head.

BIG NEWS: We will be doing a live Facebook video tomorrow doing a DNA test. The Humane Society of Utah donated a DNA test to us so we can find out what breed she is. We want to have a little contest - send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. We will get the test back in about 3-4 weeks. When we get the results, we will do another live video with the results and we will announce the winner. We have a special gift basket for the winner that we will give the winner or ship to them! So stay tuned for tomorrow's video and another one is a few weeks! Kelly sends her love and Happy Valentines kisses to everyone!
